At 3:30 pm on December 3, the orientation meeting of the full-course tutorial system was successfully held in classroom 405 of the Economics and Management Building. The meeting was presided by the Dean of SEM, and students of class Management 2001, 2002 and 2003 of SEM attended the meeting.
The undergraduate tutorial system requires professional teachers to instruct a certain number of undergraduates in terms of their study methods, course arrangements, research training, university life and even career planning. The dean introduced that tutors’ role in guiding them in making plans, studying, and researching and building moral characters. He also introduced the top-down study and research teams formed in USTB and SEM. The students were introduced the different tasks for tutors at different stages, making it easier for them to consult and cooperate with their tutors.
Since the full implementation of the full-course tutorial system in 2018, USTB and SEM have always adhered to one concept, four subjects, two key words and “3+3” talent cultivation mode. The dean introduced two institutional guarantees for the tutorial system: perfecting the incentive and constraint mechanism for tutors and building cultural atmosphere in the university, which engaged everyone’s attention.
The dean hopes that while the university and the school work together to improve and operate the system, students should have their initiative and ask their tutors for help if they encountered difficulties. With the joint efforts of the school, tutors and students, the effects of full-course tutoring system will be maximized.
Finally, the dean concluded that the university and the school will strengthen the organization, motivate, and assess the tutors with scientific methods, and explore the ways for teacher-student interaction. Students should also deepen their understanding of the full-course tutorial system and actively communicate with their tutors. With the joint efforts, the full-course tutorial system will play a more important role in the cultivation of the first-class undergraduate talents.
