On March 14, Julia Bennell, Executive Dean of Leeds University Business School at the University of Leeds, led a delegation to visit the School of Economics and Management and discuss future cooperation. Wei Gu, Dean of the School, and Ni Yu, Associate Dean, attended the meeting. This visit formed an important part of the delegation led by Professor Hai-sui Yu, Executive Vice President of the University of Leeds, to USTB, and aimed to promote comprehensive and in-depth cooperation between the two universities through the signing of a cooperation agreement.

During the meeting, Wei Gu provided a detailed introduction to the development history, disciplinary feature, teaching achievements, and future plans of the School of Economics and Management at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. She noted that the School has always attached great importance to exchanges and cooperation with high-level overseas institutions and actively encourages faculty members and students to pursue international academic exchange and study opportunities.

Julia Bennell spoke highly of the School’s facilities and academic atmosphere, and gave a comprehensive introduction to Leeds University Business School’s educational philosophy, disciplinary strengths, research achievements, and international cooperation experience. She expressed her strong interest in developing in-depth collaboration with the School of Economics and Management.

The two sides then held extensive discussions on cooperation intentions and specific details in areas such as joint talent cultivation, research collaboration, and faculty exchange, and reached broad consensus. Both parties agreed to move swiftly to implement specific projects and to promote comprehensive cooperation between Leeds University Business School and the School of Economics and Management, USTB, with the aim of making this partnership a pioneer and model for broader collaboration between the two universities.
