On October 28, 2015,the Ninth Alumna Seminar was held in Room 313. The keynote speaker was Gao Wei, alumnus graduated from management engineering in 1985. As the secretary and general counsel of the board of Sinotrans Limited, one of the members of the board in Sinotrans, the arbitrator of FCIS, FCS and vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, vice-president of the Professional Development Committee of HKICS, he boasts 20-year experience in operating domestic or international listed companies. Passed the International Company Secretary Qualification Examination in 2009, he became the first board secretary who has this certificate in H shares companies and the general contributor of Guidelines for practices of inside information of A+H Companies issued by Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries. The topic of this seminar was the Oversea Road for China’s Enterprises to be Listed.
At 3:30 pm, presiding over the work of alumni work of the school, the party committee secretary Dai Shufen declared the opening of the activity after briefing the keynote speaker and the serial talks of the alumnus.
In the lecture, using the return of China Concept Share and basic theory as well as real cases, Gao Wei interpreted the features and supervision systems of security markets in Hong Kong and America in a simple and lucid way. He also analysized the sound development trend of China’s security market.
He believed that as China (including Hongkong) has become one of the most important financing markets in the world, it is a historical liability of China’s listed companies and the workers in the whole security market to improve the operating quality, transparency and management level, to upgrade the quality and influence of China’s security market, especially the global pricing level. To be listed in multiple places may be a strategy for China’s enterprises who want to go global.
At the end, the speaker answered questions raised by the audience. Secretary Dai extended her appreciation to Gao Wei for his masterly speech and welcomed more attention for alumni work.
