At 7: 00 p.m. on December 4, 2020, an information session for Dual-Degree Graduate Programs in Finance jointly established by USTB-SEM and Zicklin School of Business was held online through the video conference software ZOOM.
The session was co-chaired by Zhao Xia, Director of the International Office of SEM and professors of Zicklin School of Business. The audience were master’s students, MBA students and the graduates of recent two years. Students and alumni who are interested in this project were welcomed to take part in this session to have a general understanding of the program through explanations of teachers.

The session first introduced the background of Zicklin School of Business, and then introduced the training objectives and teaching contents of the cooperative program. Since its inception in 2018, eight students have obtained their dual master’s degrees through the program, and some of them chose to stay in the United States as interns after graduation. Dual-Degree Graduate Program aims at training students to possess a solid theoretical foundation in management and finance, so as to become compound senior management talents who not only know the current situation of domestic enterprise management, but also are familiar with foreign capital market environment. Students who take part in the program first study at SEM to complete the core courses of master’s program and MBA program, and then go to the United States to finish the master’s program in finance at Zicklin School of Business.
The advantages of this program are obvious: obtaining degrees from two first-class universities in a short time; affordable tuition; students of SEM having an edge to be accepted to Zicklin School of Business as long as they can pass the English language test and achieve the score standard.

The teachers also answered the questions raised by the students about the program, and sincerely welcomed the students to consult at any time after the session.
USTB-SEM is the second institution in China after HSBC school of business of Peking university to cooperate with Zicklin School of Business in Dual-Degree Graduate Programs in Finance. SEM has always focused on keeping in line with the international advanced business education resources, and has been committed to broadening students’ international visions. The cooperation with Zicklin School of Business further promoted the internationalization of talent training of SEM.
