To fulfill the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, gain a timely and comprehensive understanding of students' adaptation to the new semester and their evolving perspectives, and enhance the relevance and effectiveness of day-to-day ideological and political education, on March 13, Wu Sen, Party General Secretary of the School of Economics and Management, held a face-to-face discussion with student representatives in Room 1205 of the SEM Building. Liu Yan, Deputy Party Secretary and Associate Dean of the School, as well as counselor representatives, also attended the meeting.

During the discussion, student representatives shared their observations and reflections from returning home during the winter break and coming back to campus for the new semester. They spoke openly about their views on international and domestic developments and other current issues, as well as their plans and thoughts regarding study, campus life, and practical activities in the new semester. They also actively raised questions and expressed needs related to personal development, including employment and further study. In addition, students offered suggestions for the development of both the University and the School, providing thoughtful and constructive recommendations.

Wu Sen listened carefully to the opinions and suggestions raised by the students and, on behalf of the School, expressed appreciation for their active engagement in supporting the School’s development. She responded in depth to the questions raised on topics such as career planning, employment practice, and academic research. She noted that in recent years the School has continuously organized activities such as the SEM Alumni Forum and the Entrepreneurship Practice Camp to help students address questions related to career development and support their personal growth, encouraging everyone to participate actively. She emphasized that the School has always regarded student development as a top priority and that the valuable opinions and suggestions raised at the meeting would be carefully reviewed and addressed, with a commitment to ensuring timely responses and tangible follow-up, and to continuously improving education, teaching, and management services.

This discussion further strengthened positive interaction between faculty and students through direct, face-to-face communication. Looking ahead, the School of Economics and Management will continue to build diversified communication platforms, improve feedback channels, and bring together collective efforts in student development, helping every SEM student write a meaningful and inspiring chapter of youth in the new era.
