On March 26, 2015, the 7th lecture for the “Management Broad View-Alumni Forums for the SEM” was held in 312 in the SEM building. The guest of this lecture was Cha Weijiang, a postgraduate of Management Department in our school of 1988, a graduate of Department of Automation at the USTB of 1984. He once was the executive vice-president of U-Tah Industry Co.Ltd.in Thailand, senior analyst of the investment bank of NM Rothschild, the marketing director of the financial system of SchlumbergerSema in China, the president of Beijing Huashen Huizheng System Project Technology Co., Ltd. Since 2007 he became the president of Beijing Huan Yu Invest Group Co.,Ltd, which has investment businesses in many fields, such as IT, Internet, real estate, finance, water and electricity and clean energy. The theme of this lecture was “Starting an Undertaking, Investment and Career Planning”.
After the introduction of the activities of alumni forums and the speakers at 3:00 pm by Dai, Shufen , the secretary of the party committee of the SEM, the activity began. Cha firstly shared his wonderful experiences at school with the audience, stressing the preciousness of time and the importance of making life planning, especially career planning at younger stage. Then he gave an account of the conditions necessary for entrepreneurship, investment and career planning. A broad mind, cooperation partners with same purposes, the powerful charisma and leadership, a strong belief and choosing an entrepreneurship program with promising development space are essential conditions for ensuring the success of starting a business. Cha ended the speech by some inspiring words“everyone stands a chance to fly when there is a favorable wind blowing from behind. If you have a dream, then take chance and work to fulfill it!”
The audience listened carefully to the lecture and actively interacted with the speaker in the discussion part. Some asked for professional advice for starting undertakings or consulted and discussed for the programs in which they interested. In the summary of this activity, Secretary Dai acknowledged Cha’s speech and his supports to the alumnus affairs. She hoped that more people could pay attention to the alumnus activity and the forum could do a better job.
