Dr. Khan is involved in teaching, research and international cooperation related works at the School of Civil and Resources Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, China. He is an exploration geophysicist, interested in application of geophysical methods (shallow and deep earth) for understanding subsurface geology. Particularly interested in seismic sequence stratigraphy, evolution of passive continental margins, tectonics, basin analysis and petroleum geology. Research interest also includes rock mechanics, hydrogeology, and mining seismology/geological hazards assessments. Current Projects: Microseismic based Fractures Dynamics in Deep Coalmines.
Currently, engaged in coalmine and underground engineering safety analysis, theory, and technology using microseismic, acoustic emission, and electromagnetic radiation technologies.
